FAQs

  • What is Travel Protection and how does it work?

When you make a reservation with a property and select any Travel Protection option, a Travel Protection fee is added to your total booking cost. Depending on the Travel Protection options selected at the time of booking, the Travel Protection fee extends the Terms and Conditions of the individual booking to provide up to a 100% reimbursement minus the Travel Protection fee if an unforeseen illness or health condition, adverse weather condition involving rain or snow, or other travel delay occurs 24 hours, 2 days, or up to 14 days prior to the arrival date, which prevents you from attending or completing your booking. The Travel Protection terms and conditions varies depending on the options selected at the time of booking and may not include all the options mentioned above. The full cost of the reservation is collected 14 days before the arrival date of the booking.

By paying the property a Travel Protection fee, you are extending the property's reimbursement terms and conditions to include circumstances not normally eligible for a refund.

  • What is the time period protected?

In most instances the time period protected is 14 days or fewer before your arrival date and includes up to your departure date. For certain travel delays and adverse weather circumstances the time period protected is 24 hours before your arrival date through to your departure date. In addition, you have up to 30 days after your departure date to apply for your refund.

  • What unexpected events are reimbursed by Travel Protection?

Depending on the Travel Protection selected at the time of booking, you can apply for up to a 100% reimbursement for cancellation due to the following:

    • Covid-19 Infection
    • Illness / Injury
    • Pre-existing Medical Condition
    • Pregnancy Complication
    • Death of Immediate Family Member
    • Flight Disruption
    • Mechanical Breakdown of the Vehicle Taking You to Your Booking
    • Home Emergency
    • Armed Forces Recall and Work Relocation
    • Jury or Court Summons
    •  Unexpected Changes to College Exam Dates

    • Heavy Rain Lasting 2+ Hours Per Day
    • Hurricane or Tropical Storms
    • Road Closures Due to Blizzard or Snow

If you have to leave your stay early, your reimbursement is prorated for the nights you did not use the property.

  • How do I cancel my reservation and ask for reimbursement?

Click on the Travel Protection refund link found in the confirmation email from the property you made your booking with. This Travel Protection refund link then takes you to the property's Travel Protection refund request landing page. You will enter and confirm your contact information, select your reimbursement request reason, and attach/upload your required documentation to validate your reimbursement request.

  • Is Travel Protection travel insurance?

No. Travel Protection is a limited warranty service administered through Worry-Free Bookings™ that expands the property's standard terms and conditions. The best comparison is to consider it like a 3rd party warranty you could purchase for an electronic device that offers additional protection beyond the manufacturer.

  • How are the reimbursement requests processed?

The Worry-Free Bookings™ support team reviews the application and the required proof of the unexpected cancellation reason and reimburses your travel purchase if the travel protection terms and conditions are met.

  • Should I cancel directly with the property to be reimbursed?

Yes and No, depending on the time period of your arrival date. If more than 14 days before the arrival date you should contact the property to cancel directly. If less than 14 days before your arrival date, you should click on the refund link found on your booking confirmation email sent from the property with which you made the booking.

  • Can the Travel Protection refund be returned to my credit card?

Yes. The property refunds the booking total minus the Travel Protection fee, including taxes and retail items, to the credit card used to purchase the booking. If for some reason the property can not refund your credit card, Worry-Free Bookings™ will send you a check for the booking total minus the Travel Protection fee.

  • I used a prepaid gift card for my reservation. Can I still receive a reimbursement?

Yes. In the event that the original credit card used for the purchase can not be reimbursed (like a gift card), you will receive a reimbursement via check.

  • Does the property review my reimbursement request?

No. You will submit the request through the link in the property's confirmation email and include the required documentation. The Worry-Free Bookings™ customer support team reviews the request on behalf of the property. When approved, the refund is made to your credit card used to purchase the booking.

  • Why do I need to use the link for the reimbursement request?

The provided link provides you with additional security and protection of your private information. You will verify your booking by providing your last name, phone number, reservation number, and uploading the required documentation.

  • What evidence or proof is required? Why?

To verify the validity of your request, you will need to provide evidence or proof of the illness or medical condition, adverse weather involving rain or snow, or other travel delay. You can submit a doctor's note, positive COVID-19 test, death certificate, or other documentation that clearly supports the reason for the request for reimbursement. The documentation or proof required varies depending on the reimbursement condition and request. The documentation is needed to show that the claim is legitimate.
